Where can I get decent, cheap make up products?

I am trying to become a make up artist and I wrote a list of EVERYTHING that I will need and researched the cost and I came to 拢800 - I know it costs a lot to become a make up artist but I wanted to cut this down. Is there anywhere I can get cheaper alternatives? They still have to be of a high quality for people to pay for my services. Palettes would be good but any make up is helpful??

Btw please subscribe to my youtube channel! I do make up tutorials! Its fun and free!!!

I'm a makeup artist, and, believe it or not, you don't have to shell out a ton of money to get started. Yes, having higher quality products does give you a bit more of a ';professional'; edge, but there are plenty of affordable things out there that get the job done.

If you go on eBay and search for ';eyeshadow palette';, you'll find a ton of decent quality palettes at VERY affordable prices. Now, to make the shadows perform better, use the money you saved by not spending hundreds of dollars at MAC to invest in a really nice shadow primer, and some mixing fluids. (Available at MAC or Sephora; pick the brand according to your preferences.) You can also mix these shadows with any ol' lipgloss to custom blend lip colors.

Now, go to a drugstore and pick up a bunch of different shades of eyeliners, lipliners, etc. Milani, NYC Color, Rimmel... these are all decent, and, again, with the right primers, they can perform just as well as the pricey stuff.

The place where I would invest most of my money is on concealers, foundations, powders, etc. If you end up working with clients, they may not be able to tell the difference between a cheap eyeshadow and a MAC eyeshadow, but they WILL know if you're using nasty, greasy skin products on them. Drop some money on a brand like Make Up Forever, or MAC. It's an investment, and they'll last you a long time.

Get some decent brushes, too. Sephora sells basic brush kits starting around $50, I believe.

Now that you have a basic kit, just add to it as needed. Splurge every now and then on something fancy, and before you know it, you'll have a perfect mix of low %26amp; high end products.

Sorry this was so long. Hope this helps you out. :)Where can I get decent, cheap make up products?

Well if you want cheap then it has to be from a drugstore.

Superdrug!!
Avon or cover girl :]
CVS or Target
have u tried avon?????
Hiya, invest in foundations but do try Revlon Colorstay for foundation. Shop around on the internet (Ebay too) as you can get good products at discounted prices.

Urban Decay do a brilliant eye primer :)

Eyeshadows, try a cheap pallette on Ebay but hit H%26amp;M too :)

H%26amp;M do some pretty good brushes as well as Ruby %26amp; Millie (use the free 拢5 boots vouchers against these!). Ruby %26amp; Millie do the best eye smudge by far.

Rimmel do lovely eyeshadows, with a good primer they'll stay on no prob.

Eyeliners go for Gosh or Urban Decay (pencil ones, they're the best bidget colour ranges). Their colours are the best by far. I use gel eyeliner by Sleek (these do some good dark skinned foundation too) and it's brill!

Mascaras, go for Maxfactor or Bourjois, by far the best mascaras and I've tried millions!

Maxfactor do a nice foundation called Miracle Touch but I'd avoid their other ones as the colours aren't the best range.

If you do want to go for a budget foundation, try L'Oreal true match.

Primers, get a green based one from Boots No7, they also do one for oily skin. The green one is the best one I've used for cancelling out redness :) Along with a little 拢2 one from Natural Collection.

No7 do nice foundations too and they're not badly priced.

But do try Ebay %26amp; online shops :)

Good luck!xx
