Exspensive makeup Vs. Cheap Make-up?

is exspensive make-up better than cheap make-up?

if so in what way is it better?Exspensive makeup Vs. Cheap Make-up?
both can be a good thing, really depends on the product and your skin type...Exspensive makeup Vs. Cheap Make-up?
I have found that in most cases, expensive makeup is better than cheap make-up except when talking about mascara.

IMO, mascaras are the only item where drugstore makeup is just as good or even better than the high-end makeup.

However, regarding everything else, expensive makeup is better (except for Sephora brand. I love the store, I just hate their brand).

For eyeshadows, the expensive brands usually are more pigments, blends easier, and last longer.

For products that go on the face (foundation, blush, bronzer, highlighter), the higher-end makeup, there are more options for people with sensitive and acne-prone skin, it is better pigmented (so you use less makeup, and have to take less trips to the store to buy more), it stays on the face longer, and it gives the skin that smooth, natural appearance and makes pores and fine lines less visible.

Whereas cheap makeup, tends to cake up more easily, you need a lot of product to achieve the same coverage, does not look natural (usually), does not stay on the face as long, and can accentuate pores and aggravate acne and oily skin.

Also, remember the product is cheap for a reason. Most likely they use cheaper, less quality ingredients, which is why they can make their prices so cheap and get a profit. Whereas, other companies splurge on higher quality products and getting dermatologists to prove the claims their product makes, which causes them more money, which increases the price of the makeup. However, there are times, when the company just increase their prices because of the name and they know they can get away with it (for example, Nike (the shoes)).
It depends on the type of makeup you're talking about. Expensive foundation or powder is usually much better for your skin, especially if it's something hypoallergenic like Clinique. It's better to get the expensive stuff for your eyes, just because you don't want the harsh chemicals from cheapo makeup irritating your eyes. But for mascara you can usually go for a cheap drugstore brand like Loreal or Revlon or something. For your lips, you can buy any old thing, because the expensive stuff isn't really any better of a quality there.
not necessarily, but the majority of the time, it is.

Products like skincare cleansers and stuff are usually expensive for the better stuff like clinique and proactiv, but you can pick up drugstore ones for really cheap.

They are usually more expensive because more people buy it because they like it, and because the ingredients might be more expensive.

But, some companies just go expensive because people think they are getting better quality with expensive products, so the company gets more money.
Here is an honest answer about makeup..

You get what you pay for---BUT, your skin underNEATH as well as a good foundation and powder is the TRUE way of creating a perfect flawless face to begin with!

IF your foundation and powder are really good-then everything else will look very good.

Foundation and powder should be the MOST expensive part of your makeup. Why? Because your foundation + powder will be key to keeping your other makeup lasting longer and not changing color or fading, becomming oily, etc...

However, the best quality should always be 3 things--#1. Foundation #2. Powder, #3. Mascara.

Eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, lipstick does not ever have to be pricey to look good. Infact even eyeshadow from Wet n Wild can look just as good as MAC eyeshawdows (maybe not as perfect), but again, if your foundation and powder are good quality, then everthing else will look good.

My foundation and powder may cost $80 total, but my blush, eyeshawdow, and lipstick can all cost under $5.00 each. ;)
I love expensive makeup especially for special occassions.

For everyday makeup I do use inexpensive.

To me the diffrence is the coverage and also how long it lasts on your face.

I can't afford to wear expensive makeup all the time so the cheap make up is fine with me and most of the time is long lasting.
Not all expensive makeups are always better. But not all Cheap makeups are better as well.

Make-up is good when it suits your tone, style, and purpose.

It's not about the price to make you look good with the makeup. It's the way you wear it.

ALTHOUGH...

Sometimes expensive makeups has additional purposes like SPF, longer shell life, longer wear or hypo allergenic. It all depends.

I agree that maybeline is cheaper than the other makeup brands but has very good and long lasting effect.

Hope that helps!
I never buy really expensive make-up, the brands are use are barry m, rimmel, collection 2000, boots natural collection and miss sporty.

barry m for body shimmer, magic green lipstick and strawberry lip gloss.

rimmel for the lip gloss called magnificent and some pro nail polish, wear maxx nail polish and some 60 seconds nail polish.

collection 2000 for 3in1 foundation, shine away compact powder, trio eyeshadow called dolly mixture, blush, baby pink and petal lip glosses and have loads of nail polish all in different shades of pink also have black mascara.

boots natural collection, lovely wild strawberry lip gloss, two nail polishes, three moisture lip sticks, clear and brown/black mascara.

miss sporty, only recently got some make-up from this brand, brown mascara called cocoa, shimmery white powder eyeshadow and two lip glosses called st moritz and peach poppy.

hope this helps, you don't have to stick to one brand, choose what products you like best from each brand, even out the cost and look for offers aswell.
Well it depends on the brand, product, etc. I would say that you can get some really good makeup from drugstore brands though.

Drugstore Mascaras are just as good as the high end mascaras and some of them are ever better.

Foundations like Revlon Colorstay and L贸real True match foundation are given a lot of praise and are often compared to MAC liquid foundation.

The list goes on. I would suggest going on youtube. There are a lot of product reviews and tutorials then can really help you save some money.
Really, it varies. Mascara as a general rule seems to be just as good, if not better if you get the cheaper kind (you're going to throw it away in three months, why justify paying $20+ for that?).

However, if you go for foundation, make sure you really know what you're buying. Ingredient-wise, expensive makeup can be better. It's also better because you can go to a makeup counter and be color and skintype matched and you can buy one ideal foundation for the same price as 2 or 3 ';average'; foundations.

For blush, it is hit and miss. I hate every Maybelline blush I've ever owned, CoverGirl blush is decent (but scented! tacky...), and Rimmel blush is amazing and $3 at Walmart. I've never owned a high end blush, but I really want to try some from NARS.

To know what you're buying, go to Makeupalley.com to check out the reviews. That way you can decide before you buy.
It entirely depends on the brand and products and even color. Even high end brands like MAC will come out with an eyeshadow that is maybe not pigmented, or sort of chalky, or whatever. People tend to find the bad cheap makeup more because they will buy it more freely than they would higher end stuff.
No that's not always the case as certain 'cheap' products are better than 'expensive' products!! I'd say that MAC Zoom Lash Mascara is ok and that's like 拢10.77, but I've tried Maybellne DEFINE-A-LASH Which is around 拢8 and to me is better. But it totallly depends on the product. Stuff like foundation i think more money should be spent on it, but eyeshaows, mascaras etc. it doesnt really matter
it depends, expensive is usually better quality - that's why it's expensive but there are good drugstore brands that work just as well like revlon and maybelline it all depends.

if your looking for makeup that's really good try expensive but you can buy really great makeup from drugstores.
expensive

foundation MAC

CHEAP:dream matte mouse..works just as good.

EXPENSIVE mascara... pointless

cheap mascara:

watch out...but lash blast is AMAZING 8$

eye shadow...it depends...but cheap will always work fine.but a few expensive shadows is always nice to have.

lip gloss:cheap is alway just as good as expensive.(MAC lip glass...woks just as good as anything....)

Hilighter...dont get it too cheap or it can look BAD

bronzer...just watch for to much sparkles for if its to flakey or cakey
not necessarily. it depends what makeup item you're talking about.

with foundation, you might find that more expensive brands like revlon match your skin tone easier and look more natural. revlon foundations price anywhere from $24 onwards. i find that cheaper foundations either make my skin tone orange, don't last long or they don't have much coverage.

dior mascaras are apparently amazing. ($65 for a mascara?! i think not!) but maybelline xxl mascaras work really well too and they're around $14.

rimmel eyeliner works perfectly and they're around $5, depending where you shop.

with lipglosses, i believe cheaper brands work fine. there's really no need to rush out and buy a $30 lipgloss!
it really depends.

sometimes drugstore brand shadows can just be at pigmented as department store brands

mascaras - there are also many drugstore types that are just as good as higher end brands

i think what you're more worried about is the face prep stuff and skincare.. that you def need to buy more expensive products.. b/c you only have one skin sort-of-speak...

if you do some research you'll be able to find those higher end cosmetics for cheaper at certain stores or on the internet :)

hope that helps a lil

have a nice day :D
expensive is better.

it doesn't clog your pores

as much.

its more lightweight.

its not cakey

but stay on well.

it doesn't rub off on someones

clothes when

you hug them!

and over all, it

just looks better

on your face

and makes you look

prettier!

you might be spending more, but

its worth it when

you look good and feel good.
Expensive make-up is better because it has all the right ingrediants that wont harm or clog up your skin. Like cheap mascara: Cheap mascara just bunches on your eyelashes, and will make your eyelashes fall out after a while.

Cheap make-up is harmful to your face in the long run
it depends to be honest,

i think that cheap is better.

people come out with oh

expensive is better it has

all the right ingrediants.

well so does cheap make up.

whats th epoint of spending so

much money on for example

dior make up when u can get

maxfactor make up alot cheaper

and they are probably better.

:)

ox'
expensive is WAY better, i have issues with eyeliner not staying on... then i decided to pay a little bit more and bought Bear Mineral eye liner and foundation and eye shadow.. the only bad thing about it is its hard to clean up if you mess up!!! but it last a very long time and looks better because its all powder make up!! Try it out!!
MAC is the cheapest high end makeup and the best quality because it's meant for makeup artists.

revlon and physician's formula aren't that bad, though.

covergirl i like, but most of their foundations and powders suck.

max factor = eh.

etc.

so, it really depends on what products/brands.

reviews on makeupalley.com.*(:
It's all to do with marketing. It really does depend on the brand though. I think clinique is rubbish and it's way overpriced. I think that the Maybelline cover stick is AMAZING!! And it only sells for like $10.
For the most part, it's better to invest in expensive makeup because they use ingredients that are better quality. Cheap makeup can do horrible things to your skin.
Not really, but generally, expensive make up has better quality than cheap make ups. Sometimes cheap make up spoil you face
make ups are necessary whether they are expensive or a cheap one a girl looks very beautiful without make ups even after if you wanna do make up then prefer an expensive one so that it dosen't make a bad effect on tour skin
Not always. for example lancome mascara is expensive but not so good. However maybelline one is much cheaper but it's much better. Maybelline is good.
Expensive makeup is usually better quality and more pigmented so it performs better.
expensive is definitely better, because it is of a higher quality and doesn't affect skin.
EXPENSIVE
I prefer cheap.
